Duxbury Master bathroom Project

 There is nothing more rewarding than a long time clients request for help with an upcoming project. It is received with great gratitude and appreciation. Here are the results of a master bathroom project for my clients bed and bath suite remodel at their Duxbury home. The vanity area is the focal point of the space with two demi-height cabinets flanking the beautiful Supreme white leathered counter top. The sconces frame the beveled cut mirror for additional lighting and make it a true dressing area.

 Her hardware for the vanity. The jewels of the space. Here you can also see the glaze on the cabinets create added depth and surface dimension.

The Bryant sconce from Circa lighting is simply elegant. It is beautiful against Ben Moore's Color Story paint "Perspective." Silvery but warm this palette is elegant and timeless.

His and hers vanities are separated by a narrow cabinet to add additional storage and separate the shared space. Wrapping the stone around the base of the cabinet unifies the counter to the cabinetry creating a seamless design. All cabinetry via Roomscapes Inc.

The shared side of the bathroom speaks to more genderless hardware.

The 3/8 mosaic tiles are on the shower floor and ceiling with 12x24 metered tiles as a frame. The 12x24 shower tiles continue throughout the bathroom floor and walls for continuity.

All bathroom fixtures are from the 'Charlotte' Collection by Brizo.

The Loft at Hyde Park

Can you imagine having a quiet place to work and escape your daily grind within minutes? Better yet a place where you can host fun dinner parties anytime you heart desires? Well my client uses this loft for exactly that! She now can escape her day to day life and be transported to her own urban world.

Before

This kitchen was here before I arrived. The wine rack was a favorite of the clients, so all I had to do is fill it with wine. Hard work but someone had to do it!

The mantel was built on site specifically to create a focal point on the 15' wall expanse. The Palladian 17th century inspired mirror stands a 108" high and is framed in a rust iron finish. The trestle dining table has a wood base with a concrete tabletop. Perfect for a loft environment and the client will never have to worry about maintenance with a lifestyle emphasis on dinner parties and events.

A wrought iron base table is being used as her kitchen island. I loved the shape of base and it's shallow depth. This was essential as not to encroach into the already narrow kitchen. Two high back captains dining chairs in smokey grey were used to create contrast in the seating. The remaining chairs are in a sand linen and framed with upholstery studs.

The mantel had to be extremely shallow as not to project into the dining area. The last thing you want is your dinner guest leaving with an unforeseen head injury. Just enough ledge for a little extra candle light and two undulating vases. The need to duck has been eliminated.

The table is set Bon appetit!

Soon a Michael McHale chandelier will be hung above the dining room table.

Robert Allen NATURALS COLLECTION

Recently I was invited to attend the Robert Allen NATURALS launch party at New York's D&D building. Robert Allen has always been synonymous with  beautifully crafted, high quality fabrics. The idea of organic can sometimes conjure up a visual of homespun. I have nothing against homespun but I was very curious to see how they would design textiles motivated by an organic mission without compromising elegance. How do you bridge organic with sophistication effectively? NATURALS. They have masterfully married their brand with the growing desire to see more relaxed fabrics that can be incorporated in any environment...simply beautiful. The collection is made up of authentic and relaxed materials that reflect natural forms and influences to create sophisticated environments.

Everything was truly beautiful. From the scale of  the patterns to the nature inspired colorway. Stunning!

Layering texture and color gives this space a more collected look.

"Center Circle" in mineral is amazing! My biggest frustration right now, is that you can't feel this! Soft to the hand, as is the entire collection. Feel is very important to me. The fabric should welcome you into the space not only by it's appearance but by it's hand.

Enhance the way you live...

When I started my business I didn't have to think very hard about what the mission statement would be. I drew on my memories as a little girl in my first home with a room that had very little space. I figured out at an early age that I could clear a surface, reintroduce the things that I love and create visual art...it was like magic! I realized that I didn't need much to make my room/world pleasant to look at. Having a clutter free room and arranging cards, drawings, ribbons, wild flowers (Brooklyn's prettiest weeds:) in a desirable fashion could make my space feel special. I in turn would feel special and could be responsible for my own happiness. Your environment is so important in supporting your mental health. It literally can enhance the way you live.
                                                  

Vintage at #Brimfield 2012

Sunshine or rain the loyal dealers setup camp and await the thousands of walkers looking for that special item at Brimfield. When you think Brimfield you think history & antiques...treasures with a past. Here are a few things I found on my morning walk.

This year I saw so many linens, old and new. These vintage pieces were gently used with hints of red in many different patterns. 

Toile, plaid and check patterns were plentiful and reminded me of country living.

Reproductions with a feeling of France seem to be everywhere.

I get the feeling that this cabinets prior home may have been a general store.

Vintage tableware fit for a rustic meal on the countryside perhaps.

Just in case you get lost there are many Brimfield signs to keep you moving. The direction is up to you.

Tired? I found this old camp equipped with all you need to recharge.

Time to go? Row, row, row your boat all the way home...

Hi I'm back from Brimfield 2012!

Hello everyone! I just came back from a fun time at the #Brimfield Tweetup in Brimfield Mass! It was hosted by Aubuchon Hardware, Benjamin Moore, Company C, The Daily Basics, Fashion+Decor, Kathryn Markel and Style at Home.This marked the 3rd tweet up event that brought bloggers and designers from all over the country to share their love of Brimfield and all things that inspire. Together Grethchen Aubuchon, Cynthia Bogart and Benjamin Moore hosted and event that fostered new relationships and brought insight to new trends and products all with a good dose of FUN!! Brimfield runs for 6 days total and will draw dealers and buyers from all over the globe that want to be apart of one of the biggest flea markets in the world. 


Even though I'm back from my trip I'm following many of the highlights via twitter! Robert Allen had introduced a new collection that I can't wait to see up close and personal. In fact I just used the "Sol" fabric you see above from a previous collection as a part of master bedroom installation! I can't wait to share it with you! In my upcoming post I will share a few finds and highlights  from vintage to modern day finds that I spotted along the way! Ciao!
